Rose O'Neill's Kewpie character has been enchanting fans since before 1910. The smiling elfin Kewpies were named after Cupid. Rose became interested in the women's suffrage movement in 1915 while living in New York with her sister. It was during this time that she began creating her charming suffrage art. This photograph of Rose is from 1907.
